The reasons why Indonesian business is MUCH BETTER compared to Australian business:
1. Australia has much less population. In Jakarta, if you can get a profit of $1 for every product and you can reach 1 millon people (Jakarta itself has more than 20 million people), that is a profit of 1 million dollars per day.
2. Tax is almost negligible, it can go to 10%, some 35%, but you can also get away from tax or with very little tax, if you know what to do or if you know people how to deal with tax. Whereas in Australia if the profit is big, you will be taxed 50%, some even 65%, you can say that you can hardly get away with tax.
2. Distance to the shops for every person is quite far.
3. Distance between shops is far, and the road is hilly, hardly good to walk on them. A few have slop of 60 degrees! (where 90 degrees would very completely vertical).
4. Most of the crowded place, it is very hard to find parking and if you park, it would be quite a distance to the shop you want (and I mentioned above that it is very hilly, hard to walk).
5. Australia has much less opening hours for shops, they close 5pm weekdays and only 9pm at most for a maximum of once a week. As most Australians work and finish well after 5pm, it makes it hard for them to shop, even if the shop opens until 7, it would be pushing it to make it to the shops.
6. Only very few shops such as Officeworks opens until 7, so there are not many options.
7. Because only few shops available, the variety of products available is limited. As a rule, the more shops the more variety because every shop has only a few sources and some shops may know certain sources but not all shops know all sources. This is different from Indonesia. Because there are many shops, there are much more variety. Also because Indonesia shops open until 10pm mostly, and some of them 9pm, but 7 days per week Monday to Sunday.
8. Australia is very strict. If it is Officeworks, you are not allowed to sell certain types of products. Whereas in Indonesia is much more flexible. You can sell products that is not meant for your shops, so because of this, the chance of variety has increased. And because Australia is very strict and only very few shops open after hours, you have even less variety to shop.
9. At the end Australians give up because too tired because of work and not many shops open, they prefer 'Mind over matter'. Of course Australians say that because there is no other options.
10. Products are very expensive, but instead of getting a lot of income, people choose not to buy instead of buying them. 'Mind over matter'.
11. Although the products are very expensive, the quality is much inferior compared to products in Indonesia. Let's face it, Australia couldn't even produce a proper door, any tools, they are all imported from other countries. They are too busy maintaining their homes and the country, they couldn't do anything right, let alone to produce quality product.
12. You can't compare the food production in Australia to Indonesia. In Indonesia, a particular small city might have dozens of authentic food of the region, and there are almost thousands small cities in Indonesia because of the great population. Food invention is almost everyday thing because food is very important and a very profitable business. In Australia, there is no such thing as Australian food, probably the only thing is Fish and Chips but then it even may not be invented by Australians either, AND the Fish and Chips in Australia don't have any flavour, they even forget to put SALT on it, I told you these people can't produce quality products. The Asian food in Australia is quite rare too and can only be found in a few places whereas we have hundreds of days every year and we eat 3 times a day.
13. Labor in Indonesia is much cheaper, so it is possible to have 10 staffs just for a small shop. And it is not rare that the 3 staffs are waiting on just one customer, smiling and chatting about the product of interest. Whereas in Australia, the staffs are rude, they barely know anything, probably would just ask you to go home to check on the Internet and go back to the shop again and buy the product. You hardly enjoy shopping or eating out in Australia because of this, and also the quality is quite bad. Yes, and then they would say 'Mind over matter'. How convenient.

IM2 Broadband 3.5G
I have arrived in Jakarta last Monday and I have been unpacking my computer system, buying lots of electric plugs, getting my PS3 running and getting an Internet connection.
And because today I have just been online, I am going to show you the device that enable me to connect to the Internet. It is this IM2 Broadband 3.5G.
About this device:
1. It uses the same wireless technology as mobile phones so you can connect to the Internet anywhere you want.
2. It connects using USB.
So that means I can connect my Laptop and PC anywhere I want where there is mobile phone signal.
How great is that? I find that Indonesia is much more fun compared to Australia, and this is one of the reasons. I hardly even knew that this kind of technology exists in Australia.

More details about staff in Brisbane
My impressions of people in Brisbane is quite terrible. Why? Because they always mislead, and the reasons could be because they don't know the answer, or they are stupid, or they have made a wrong decision. And these misleading information is given with great confidence, so you would think that what he/she says is correct and you should take his/her advice. And it is a very wrong decision if you take his/her advice.
How do you know that their advice are wrong? Very easy. You can just ask different people the same question. In Australia, if, for example, you ask, what is the best TV brand you should get? Answers some could say Sony, others could say LG, Samsung, Panasonic, etc. In Australia, you can't find out which particular brand that is really leading the market, you are asked to research on the Internet, that is their solution. In Indonesia, if you ask sellers or buyers, most of them would say that a particular brand is superior, right on the spot. For TVs, they would say that Panasonic is the best, and for laptop, it would be Fujitsu when I last bought one and Toshiba before that. Every shop, and every people know it. And I know that the product that I bought is of very good quality and I am satisfied with the product.
Just today I had another bad experience, which is the same as always. Here are the problems with the Malaysia airline officer when I ask about his flight service:
1. He was scolding me that I think he was lying that Malaysia airline do not allow excess baggage.
2. He said that Malaysia airlines is the best airline in the world.
3. That having 20 kg with no excess baggage, because they say 20, so they only allow 20, nothing more, is a good thing because they are strict.
4. He tried to hang up on me so many times, which eventually he did hang up.
Here is my say about these points:
1. a. Staffs should not scold customers. In Indonesia, we treat customers with respect and courtesy, because without customers, there will be no business. And although in Jakarta alone has more population than the whole Australia combined, we treat all of customers with great respect and courtesy. But In Australia, they treat customers like garbage, they scold them and they would not want to hear your point on the matter. They would say something like: "So you think that I am lying to you?"
b. I did not think that he was lying at all. I was trying to ask him IF I could get excess baggage if I asked him. I know I had experience in the past that I was allowed excess baggage up to 40 kg for a student! So a total of 60 kg of baggage. And it was no big deal, there were no scoldings to customers.
2. From what I know, Singapore airlines is better than Malaysian airlines. My mom had a waiting list until 3 July because the flights are full where the ticket was requested on 15 June. Whereas you can get a ticket from Malaysia airlines at the moment you request one, which means there are empty seats available. Just from exercising giving false information like this, you can't really be sure if the airline officer or any other person in Brisbane or in Australia is ever going to give a valid information. Because of this problem, we would never know the quality of the airlines by asking Australians, whereas in Indonesia, people are informed about which airline is the best, and so you would not need to try each of the airlines to find out, which takes a lot of time and effort and stress (because you couldn't get information unless you try yourself), but you can choose straight away which is the best airline, and it would be correct and you would be making a good decision. People in Indonesia would not say something like Malaysia airline is the best, if they know that Singapore airline is better, they would just keep quiet and not say a thing, so at the end, we know exactly which is the best from majority. This is different in Australia, where people who work in Malaysia airline say they are the best, Qantas airline say Qantas the best, and so on. But in Indonesia, everyone would say that a particular airline is the best, and we know for sure that this information is correct.
3. I would think that giving extra excess baggage would be definitely better than giving 20 kg and no more than 20 kg. This has been done so many years in the airline industry, and definitely no need for scolding the customers if customers want a little more.
4. I find that the staff in Australia is very stressed, probably because the high pay, but customers do not get the treatment they deserve, because of the stress the staff get. I have experience my friends being scolded many times at the McDonald's, KFC, etc counters. Especially I know that my Japanese friend said: "Japanese don't like that".
As a result of giving misleading information tradition, people would find it hard to decide and to find out which product or service is the best. They would require harder research, which sometimes could lead to a valid research outcome, or other times an invalid research outcome. This is where some of the not so good products or services get good income, by creating chaos, and people give up and just buy whichever they can get. So there is definitely much more stress for ALL of the customers and they have to reinvent the wheel everytime they require new information.
Of course, during these times Australians are already as busy as hell, as I mentioned before, they hardly have time even for each other.

The Four Temperaments Strengths and Weaknesses
I used to be a Melancholic, for many early years. I don't really see it as a disadvantage, mind you. I tend to think that to be a Melancholic is essential to actually build the foundations, and I get to learn a lot of important things as a result of being a Melancholic, although those years are not easy, many depressed and unhappy years. I am glad that I am pass that now.
When I was about 24 years old, which is the time just before I graduated from my Bachelor degrees, I decided that being a Melancholic won't get you very far. Things such as: I will not ask favor but I will only give favors, or if something goes bad, it is always be my fault and not other's, and as a result I will always try to prevent bad things from happening, and I tend to think that ideally I would always have the opportunity to control over any kinds of happening in any event.
Of course, it is just not possible. You see, the person who brought me to the land of misery is actually Jesus Christ. Give your right cheek when your left cheek is slapped. Of course, this is false believe. And there are NO teachings from Jesus that are actually practical at all, not even reside in my mind after hearing a LOT of church services for YEARS.
On the contrary, only not long after 24 years old, I read about Confucius, and Confucius saved my life. His teachings are very simple and tend to reside close to the middle of situations, and his views are exactly the same as mine, plus, he had built on so many other aspects throughout the years of his life, and he died when he was 72 years, and then his students continued his work by writing the Analects of Confucius. Teaching examples are: if you have a favor to ask, ask it only once. And then let go. Or a Superior man still make mistakes, the difference is that he will rectify his mistake once he is aware of it. Whereas I used to think to completely become perfect and never make mistakes at all, which is obviously very hard.
It made my life much easier, if something happens, I tend to think, it could be my mistake but it could also mean that it is your mistake from letting it to happen.
So I believe I am now in the category of Melancholic Choleric. Recent events have not made me become Phlegmatic just yet, there had been adverse situations that I had to deal with and it is definitely not something to be done with peace and quietness, it requires shouting out and telling people what is wrong with the situations, mostly. Once that is cleared and out in the air, I should be in peace.
However, before my episode of being difficult and loud, I was more like a Sanguine. Many of the things that I said did not matter, and although they are funny, most of them are very difficult to believe. The reason for this is, I tend to think that these will not misled people, which is very important, because it is completely unbelievable, but it brings people to the matter, which is important, because it makes people to think about it. I probably would think that at that time I was a Melancholic Sanguine, because although I was a Sanguine, people would probably know that there is a very important reason behind my sayings and it is definitely much better compared to just being quiet and get very depressed for not saying anything, in any situation for that matter.

Canon iVIS HF10
I am still in Australia at the moment and as I am fixing my car in order to sell it, asking around about freight services to send my things back to Indonesia, and doing a bit of other shoppings as well, I bought myself a High Definition Camcorder. This is my first Hi Def camcorder, as I have been looking around and did not get what I wanted and especially with the price that I can afford. The last time I checked, the good camcorders are only the Sony ones in the market and my experience with Sony Handycams has not been great, I am reluctant to buy another Sony Handycam/Camcorder especially that the ones I have cannot produce images very well in low light and the last time I checked, the video images are not bright enough/too greyish for me, and as I mentioned, the price is very high for the 1080 resolution.
Well, what I recently found is this Canon iVIS HF10, which just came out last April in the US, which uses 16GB internal memory, and you can also add additional SDHC card which is up to 16GB as well at the moment.
As you probably can see from the image, the Camcorder is very simple and uses very little mechanicals that move, which could result in less prone to faults and other speed advantages as well.
This camcorder has maximum resolution of 1920x1080, whereas at least some of the Sony ones are a maximum of 1440x1080. I tend to think that Canon is better than Sony as well in terms of low light video and better color captures as I have used Canon products before, and I know Canon has very good technicals in these area. And so far, my assumptions have been correct.
This camera has also been announced as No. 1 camcorder in Japan, well, I just hope that the product is as good as the reputation.
I have found out also that you can copy and burn the resulting video AVCHD (the original .m2ts) files to any DVDs, which means that there is no quality reduction, and play the AVCHD files on my PS3. I don't know if other BluRay players can play this kind of files but certainly PS3 can. But of course, regular DVD players cannot play this .m2ts format. This is a great thing, because I can just copy the original without any loss of resolutions, and it does not require any change of format, not even change of the file extension .m2ts and play the files on PS3.
The price is about AUD$1550 in the most competitive camera shop in Brisbane, but I bought from eBay for just AUD$1150. I believe that I would get the same price if I buy from Indonesia too, because the price in eBay usually is good, it's just that sometimes it is a bit risky if you buy from eBay if the seller is unfortunately a fraud.
I am very lucky that I spent that much money and yet I still get the product.
I also bought an additional BP-819 battery which can last for about 3 hours for each full recharge. I need this, as the standard battery can only last for maximum of 90 minutes. The other thing that I bought is also a Sandisk SDHC 16GB class 4 card, and so far both items have worked with no problems at all.
The quality of the videos are amazing with my PT-AX200E projector, although I thought that the audio quality is not as crisp as it should, but I could be mistaken. So far a few tests in a quiet area resulted a good audio quality for this Canon iVIS HF10.
iVIS is the name for the Japanese market, and this product comes with 2 languages which are Japanese and English, and the format is NTSC. The international version, VIXIA, can probably be both PAL and NTSC but so far this NTSC camcorder did not have any problems with any players that I have including my computer and my home theatre projector system as well as my old conventional TV.
It's just so ridiculous how small and simple the camcorder is and then how huge and amazingly detailed and high speed the resulting video is shown by the projector. It's insane.

My last impressions on Brisbane, as I am leaving the country
My impression of Brisbane:
1. People is definitely not polite (Indonesia... very polite), in fact, they are quite terrible.
2. The workers are amateurs, you can barely get any information from them, they would probably just tell you to surf the net to get info (Indonesia... very informative you ask them anything and they will know the answer, or they will find out the answer on the spot! by phoning people, experimenting themselves if it involves equipment or ask a more superior person). Here they hardly do anything right.
3. The products are low quality and VERY expensive including the food which we eat everyday, 3 times a day. As I have been saying, food is very important. The products are low quality because here they cannot sell by volume, only cheapest product with highest profit such as from China so the supposedly cheap products but become very expensive because of the high profit taken from them... of course, you can get them very cheap too in Indonesia, with low profit, because they sell by volume.... products from China barely cost anything. plus other high quality products with low profit is sold in Indonesia, and you definitely can't get them in here.... such as from Europe, Japan and Taiwan. I wish I can say US but they hardly produce anything but movies... with lots of obscenities but good thing they are censored in Indonesia, my God I wouldn't want my children to grow up with that uncensored obscenities....
4. The country's government itself, is EXTREMELY Communist... they want everyone to be THE SAME, by imposing excessive tax. So the rich gets poorer and the poor gets richer. This is EXTREMELY unfair. The inferior is given a lot of funds and the smart is taken money (EXCESSIVELY).
So if you make 1 million dollars a year, the government will take 500 thousands. If you want to be lazy, that's fine... you can live in Australia with some government support.... but for me, I can't even start before I figure things out and it has been very hard for me just to run interviews, because of what is ahead of me.... EXCESSIVE 50 PERCENT TAX!
No matter how hard the smart ones work, they live the same way as the dumb ones. How can that be right! The smart ones need some break and given rewards too... but no rewards will ever be enough with that 50 PERCENT TAX!
Of course this only happens in Australia... because nobody thinks this to be fair! If you work hard and very smart, you should be rewarded a lot.... and if you are lazy, you don't get a reward.... that's the right thing to do...
But in Australia.... if you work hard and very smart... the government will tax you excessively... and if you are lazy... you are given money... its a perversion. the hard workers should be given extra money for incentive and the lazy ones should not be given money at all and should be punished. Of course the productivity will go out to outside Australia because there are lots of better opportunities out there! with lots of more consumers. Jakarta itself has more population than the whole Australia combined! Not counting Bandung, Cirebon, Solo, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and so on.
And these are only cities in Java ONLY... not mentioning cities outside Java.
5. No servants and no drivers and if you are not sufficiently informed.... no technicians, you just pay them without them fixing anything at all and the government support them that we should pay them quite a lot of money for fixing nothing.... so because we are so busy being a servant, driver and technician at the same time, we do not have enough time and energy to take care jobs carefully, to prepare good food, energy to exercise, to have fun, and to dwell on mental development, which is superfluous when you live in Indonesia... people are much refreshed, informed, polite and sharp.
And at the same time being entertained by all kinds of products from all over the world. Which you can't find in here.
6. The roads are terrible they are hardly flat, you can hardly walk on them, not even on the pedestrians walking. You can hardly walk except in the shopping malls, where it is not that flat either. The road is also very hilly and uncomfortable to drive.
I enjoy walking in Indonesia much more compared to here.
7. Excessive maintenance for the road and the electricity cables. Causing very expensive spending to maintain them.
Confucius said: it is better to be frugal than to be extravagant... (if you have observed this closely via experience, you will know that Confucius is right).
8. Petrol in Brisbane is very expensive now, 150 cents. Used to be 70 cents 7 years ago. At the moment in Indonesia, after 30% increase of petrol costs, is about 60 cents (which is still cheaper than 7 years ago in Australia).
My last suggestion is, if you are Indonesian and got a Permanent Residency in Australia, don't very quickly decide to let go your Indonesian Citizenship because you may regret it living in Australia. Should choose to have the two possibilities living in both countries whenever you have the chance. This simple thing can hardly be done to most people, because they think that Western countries are better... I suggest you think again...
I know I've had it living here for 12 years, but I ain't gonna live here for the rest of my life.
But of course, I still have 5 years of Permanent Residency in Australia, I might come back again...

Younger people who believed that they are more experienced than me that gets on my nerve
It gets me sometimes that these younger people say things like: I am much more experienced than you because of this and this and this. I hardly believe them sometimes you know, because experienced, maybe, but there are other qualities that matters as well, that varies from one people to another such as attention to details, analytical abilities, good judgements, intelligence, age, either you are an open or closed mind, etc.
And it just does not serve you justice to say that: although I am younger, I am much more experienced than you. Especially this time, someone who never even driven, never bought a car, rarely able to speak to people, a woman, 5 years younger, and who before said that she is a shallow person, who never even known what you tube is, never even downloaded anything because it costs money.
I don't know why but the older I am, the easier it is for people to make me angry, irritated and make me want to make sure that they get what they deserve, nothing less, nothing more.
At the end, I kinda wonder if all the efforts of making sure that they know they are not more experienced than you really matters at all. Whether I should be quiet and get on with my life.
This is a soft spot that I have: justice. If somebody is wrong, my conscience says that I must get them. And I would get nuts if I don't get them right. It's quite terrible, there are times where I should to just let things go and get on with my life when I was much younger. But lately I just felt like blowing things up over the roof and I can't think or I would lose my sense of humor altogether.
I really don't know what to do in this situation and hopefully I will find out an answer.
